To be eligible for the Pathway to Purchase Program, buyers must contribute 1.75% of the sales price. Additionally, income limits do apply. This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals and families to access financial assistance and take the necessary steps toward homeownership.
At First Home Mortgage, we understand that every homeowner's journey is different. This is why we also offer the Prince George's County Purchase Assistance Program (PGCPAP). With the PGCPAP, potential homeowners can receive assistance of up to $15,000 for down payment and/or closing costs. Similar to the Pathway to Purchase Program, buyers must contribute 1.75% of the sales price, but the PGCPAP offers higher income limits.
Serving Our Community
In addition to the benefits provided by the PGCPAP, specific professionals such as Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs, Classroom Teachers, Firefighters, Nurses, and Emergency Room Technicians are eligible for an additional $5,000. This program aims to support those who serve our community by offering enhanced assistance to make homeownership more attainable.
Both the Pathway to Purchase Program and the Prince George's County Purchase Assistance Program are designed to help residents overcome the barriers of down payment and closing costs. The loan is forgiven over a period of 10 years at $1,000 per year, providing long-term financial relief to homeowners.
